Elbow Guards

So MrsSlowbee ruined her elbow guards on her fall which has taken a few months to recover from.

What recommendation do you have for a new pair?

She is not a downhiller - but just wants something to protect her elbows from loosing more skin, and a bit of padding will also help.

The current pair while light weight and cool, they rotated when she fell and slid so offered no protection at all.

So any advice would be great.

And as for budget. Lets say that getting her elbows well protected gets her back on a bike, so price a bit of an issue - but not to much. I can eat less for a month or 3 to cover costs.

any other suggestions based on experience?

Fox launch guards look good for general riding - more protection than the g-form but not a full enduro type setup

May I suggest looking at the ones targeted at the bmx crowd.

They usually have a wider range in the minimalist categories.

Shadow conspiracy, union, demon, fuse and several others make soft shells that aren't as burly as the enduro/downhill specific varieties.

I find that anything without the top and bottom velcro strap will rotate and also rather uncomfortable. Look at somthing that has the straps and then decide on the size weight look etc. Local BMX online stores dont keep much variety

lots of options online - but want to actually try the things on.

Like the idea of velco straps. Myles showed us his pair. Would be keen to see something similar.

I use the G-Form guards for Enduro M/cycling. No issues of them slipping or rotating. Great impact resistance, not sure about the abrasive resistance. Not tested that yet.
