Each to his own, you have every right to have that opinion.

The reason why I don't take his 2 year ban seriously, is because he was tested positive for Clenbuterol   its not a Steroid (EPO or Testosterone) its a weight loss pill that doesn't give any performance enhancement. (maybe he took it a month prior to the 2010 tdf to shed 2kg's before July and somehow small traces where found in his blood later)

But its definitely not something that's going to make you win the tour due to taking it. Heck even Britney Spears admitted to using it on a regular bases to shed her boep.

That's just my 2c.

You left out the bit that Clen also improves breathing capability, one of the prime reasons endurance athletes use it... Contador never ever needed to it for fat burning.

And.....don't forget the traces of plastisides that were also found in his urine samples the day before the Clen positive sample.....

Of course there is a convienant way to discard that evidence....the testing process was not validated at the time but most people who care know it's from the plastic blood bags used in blood doping.

Smoke, fire and Contador.....

I believe the KOM is tougher that the GC lead. You don't have a team to shelter you, and you have to be in almost all of the breaks during the mountain stages.

I must still meet a bike rider who enjoys repeated hill sprint drills over 50-100 metres.

Awesome.. you sure picked a great day to be roadside

And thx for sharing with us..

We thought we were in for a quiet day out! Not to witness the drama of what unfolded!

It's a pleasure to post - hope I'm not boring too many people.

As I said yesterday - by hook or by crook, plan a trip that coincides with a grand tour and get yourselves a stage. It really is amazing.

With a 26 hour half life, to benefit it must've been taken throughout the tour. (which is impossible)

As for the Plastisides in the urine, We'll never know will we.(Maybe he was juiced up to his eyeballs, but that was 2009, its 2016 and dare I say it.. very hard to dope) - He made the last 7 years of Pro cycling very enjoyable to watch.

Whats your take on LA? (out of curiosity)

Great posts Bonus... I foresee this becoming a regular Vuelta outing in years to come now you have the taste for it

For sure!

I've done bits of the Tour several times from the UK but that's a whole big trip. This is easy - on our door step.

The main reason we chose this area to settle down in was because of the climbs in the Pyranees that le Tour and la Vuelta use.

Come now, fans & lovers of road racing...

Let's stick to this awesome Grand Tour that's unfolding.

Enjoy the sheer excitement and complete racing magic.

The dopping discussion is a downward spiral into negativity, power games and cheeky blah blah.

It's in the past.

Happy Monday

Which is NOT a rest day

Which is so cool

If I have to hear once more about how awesome short stages are and the TDF should change I will lose my mind!
