I've had online tracking information tell me "At branch, 1st notification sent to recipient". Meaning, they've mailed me the collection slip. I'd then call the post office, "ehhhhhh, eets not hea". Africa.

Can't say other it is black and keeps you on the road. The local distributor will complain, even if they are not interested to help me out.

I even got an sms notification from the PO the other day saying "dear customer, your parcel number bla bla bla is ready for collection at your branch"

It's the first time that has happened. I must say I was rather impressed and then thought that actually, that is the way it should be.

They didn't really have any other options.... Either they upped their game or they contributed to the unemployment stats.... Private sector was knocking 7 kinds of snot out of them!

I think the post office is actually pretty smart. They lower your expectations with k*k service, then they up their game a little bit to what it should be. And bam everybody is impressed

I argued with them last week when they tried that, eventually they looked behind them and it was on the counter-top, apparently the driver (EMS gets home delivery) had been to the house and there was nobody home - the Cleaning specialist and the Horticulturist were both at home....

SAPO get 10 outa 10 from me. Delivered a package from China to my door on Monday.

 

Only gripe I have is that they do not update the tracking service online. Monday morning the package was still in JHB @ the mailing center BUT it was delivered just before 15h00

I went to the satellite office thing they have in a small shopping mall close to me. Wanted to find out prices how they work etc. The guy there could not be bothered looking at me when he spoke and had no clue what they actually did there. Saw red and walked away. 

 

With Aramex buying out Postnet and the way they are operating with the R99 deals they already have everything in place to replace SAPO.
