A proper cable cutter is of paramount importance! As a student, buying one hurt, but man am I glad I did. I've saved myself a fair amount of money and riding time being able to do this kind of servicing myself.

Also, DON'T FORGET that cable tip clamp-thingy!!! That thingymajig that stops the cable from fraying. Yeah, pretty crap if you forget it after all that effort.

you can also solder (old school and reliable) the tip or use some super glu in a fix

Ive seen some really ugly cable ties being fit to a full cable as the frame can't cater for it hence why i have been delaying it...

I drilled (very carefully!) the cable stops so the outer just slides through.

I then made a small loop out of Alu which I drilled and screwed in to replace the below the bb guide.

Super neat and my SIR 9 can now have full length cable routing easily.

A bit of ingenuity and you can make it look just as good as anything else

I wish I could but I just stripped the bike to build up a magnificent Red Spez epic which will be my steed at Lesotho Sky this year.... The SIR 9 is going back to it's original state as a rigid SS.... Last years Lesotho steed and how the bike belongs!
