Specialized are still not really up to the modern geometry standards even with this bike. And with Ohlins on board these bikes are going to be hellish expensive.

Huh? They were one of the first to drive the longer lower slacker geo movement. Even the old 6er Enduro was long when looking at bikes now.

frame now may not be super long when compared against mondraker, Nicolai geometron and the canyon race models, but a reach figure of 450mm for large and 470mm for xl is right where it is at the moment.

And ohlins is only on the sworks model

I have the niner and loving it! its been over a year since my Last 27.5 but must say I am Glad I made the change. ..but lets not get into that thread...

Yeah. But we are only getting the niners. Not that I have a problem with that, as the niner is by all accounts a ripper of a bike, but I know that some wouldn't even consider a niner

The new frame has boost rear triangle so the 29er wheels will be stiffer than before and you can also fit 27.5plus in there.

The Reach on the Transition Patrol 483,Giant Reign 480mm,Banshee Rune 480mm and this is for the XL frame all 27.5, and 10mm does make a difference in reach. Yea so the Ohlins is only on the Sworks but it's going to make it very pricy,it was just a comment about what I think but yea I did not read the article.

Agreed, but theyre all on the upper end of average. There are still many many manufacturers who think 470mm on an xl and 450 on an l are extreme numbers

But I must say this - I agree that they SHOULD be longer, in my opinion, but it doesn't mean that they aren't "up to standard"

Yea I should of worded things better, the thing is at over the 6ft2 I think it might be short for me. Lots of times what the manufacture says is right for your height does not always feel right. But different strokes for different okes. But let's be honest what is the standard nowadays especially as you said with the likes of Mondraker and the Geometron.
