Which Road Shoe?

Hi there

I need new shoes (road, must be carbon).

I currently have Lake full carbon and am very happy with them (car hit me last week and amongst other things drove over my toes cracking the sole). Pic attached for interest sake,

I have narrowed the search down to either Sidi T3 or Garneau LS 100.

I think the Sidi's I saw have a carbon/plastic sole ie carbon centre piece and plastic surround, and the Garneau is a carbon composite with Boa system.

Comments regarding both would be very much appreciated. My budget is around R3,000.

My one issue I have with my Lakes is the Boa system...near the ankle it is almost too tight yet at the toes it is quite slack.

Look forward to some feedback.

Are you a Triathlete?

Edit: For Sidi have a look here: http://www.sidionline.co.za/road/ depending on size and colour you might get lucky with a set of Ergo 3's. Otherwise I would look at the new Sidi Levels over the T3's as those are for Tri.

Louis Garneau make some good shoes but Sidi are in a different league. I am on my 4th pair of sidi's and did a lot of research before buying my latest set, the major advantage they have is their replaceable parts and robust construction that lasts for ever. All my shoes are still functional but some have taken huge abuse from multiple big crashes and tar skiing sessions.

Sidis a very narrow shoe, check fit first. esp if been using Lakes

the GARNEA's would be my preffered choice

cheers

I can't really add any assistance at all, but I will say that my Sidi motorbike boots are the most comfortable boots I've ever had, and they're bulletproof.  If they make the cycling shoes in the same way, then it's got to be a winner.

That's whats got me leaning in favour of the Sidi's....but the T3's are Triathlon shoes.....shouldn't make a huge difference but not too many triathletes spend 4 hours on a bike....

SIDI Ergo 3. Very comfortable and not too narrow. Actually not narrow at all.

I also have SIDI motorbike boots, as mentioned above: super comfortable.
