DJR Posted April 17, 2017 Share Holy storm! We were on the farm about 50 km North of this and climbed the nearest hill to watch the most spectacular thunder storm I have seen in all my life (and I grew up there and have seen amazing African thunderstorms as far up as Zambia). It was literally non stop flashes for 2 or 3 hours with the sound track from a Metallica concert. We got some welcome rain, about 10 mm, but I didn't realize just how much it rained along the mountains, well within sight of us. The area is prone to that kind of flash flooding as it has shown many times in the past. Here's a picture I took of the culprit. DJR Posted April 17, 2017 Share By the look of it, quite a long stretch of road is completely gone. If that really is the extent of it, repairs will take more than just a few months!
Skylark Posted April 17, 2017 Share That's going to be a huge repair, relay the road from foundation up.
