Oh yes, I was trying to figure out if my statement in the Basso thread was offensive...

So we have established that the forgiveness of Basso and making him an ambassador for anti-doping could be likened to the story of the Prodigal Son...

Is the UCI a Christian organisation? No, not by definition or characteristics. Can parallels be drawn with regard to the treatment of Basso and the Prodigal Son. Yes, it can be argued... Does any of this offend the sensibilities of Christians? I sincerely hope not...

Like I have said before... the fact that the UCI forgives and forgets and

washes slates clean' date=' dresses the prodigal son in it's finest robes and

makes him an ambassador for anti doping... Correct me if I'm wrong but

those to me are the characteristics of a Christian organisation... Just like the biblical parable of The Prodigal Son...

that doesn't make the UCI a christian organisation but an organisation with an attitude and behaviour (in this case) that we know from the bible, from christianity.

To make it a christian organisation it would have to have christian values and other stuff written down in the organisation's constitution - or in what ever way that works.

I mean really... As a Christian who finds something to be offensive to my sense of Christianity I shout and rave about it publicly! I don't secretly send a message asking for people to respect me... If the statement was so offensive then I believe as a Christian the thing to do would have been to publicly make your objections known... Christianity isn't about hiding in the shadows, it's about being fruitful, joyful and mighty... This includes making a public stand for what you believe!

Yeah...who's not playing nicely in the sandpit?

Some folk here are way too keen to hit the report button...

I cannot see how Pantani's post could have been offensive.

Just because you report it doesn't mean Admin MUST remove it.  Sounds like your beef should be with the moderators, not the complainants....

I feel that, if something offends your personal beliefs but is socialy acceptable, move on and dont read further. If however you feel that it is antisocial, ie racist, sexist or tantamount to hate speach, then report it. Act responsibly, dont overreact simply because you feel that something is counter to your personal beliefs

I agree with Pantani, the word christian means to be like Christ, and refers to when a person believes on Jesus, God Spirit becomes joint with that man's spirit. Then God's nature starts to become the man's nature and then he is like Christ. (by faith).

Christianity is not about protecting cilly saying and jumping on everybodies backs. Jesus also made comparissons like being the lion of Juda, lions eat people and it doesn't mean that he eats people. It's Silly!
