It is even more fun to beat those that subscribe to the school of Andrew Mclean's Argus Advice of "Just sit at the back for the first 99.99% of the race to conserve energy" when you've been working hard at the front ;)

Maybe... but the reality is that the majority of expensive vehicles on the road are financed. South Africans are very emotionally connected to their cars and see it as a status item, thus the reason for over extension on debt.

If I am called a d%$s on a 10 year old R3k bike because I have internal satisfaction that my training effort has made up the difference between my skedonk and a guy on a R120k bike, then so be it.

I personally see other actions that warrant the d$5s title:

-People on the highway(or any other road) on their phones(Calling and texting)

-Drunk Drivers

-etc

If you want to group me with them, no problem, doesn't affect my self worth.

not quite sure that was point he was making

Monetary value has no indication of the kinda person you are ....well at least me thinks that be it. But I am Pommie and we can't talk English much ????

#SarcasmWarning: How dare you judge the one sitting at the back when you outsprint them at the finish line... ;)

TBH Well done

Ek hoop my punt is nou bietjie duideliker gestel.

Die bleddie Brits taal maak dat dinge partykeer verlore raak in die vertaling. Plus die feit dat dit Vrydag is gooi ook bietjie vuur op die kole.

Which is, That nothing gives you more pleasure than beating people with expensive bikes?

No, that it is not necessary to spend 120k on a bike when you clearly have the money, but not the physical fitness to justify such an expensive purchase. I agree, it is their money and they can do with it as they please. I just clearly don't get along with people who are exessive with their spending and then brag about it, yet can't even keep up with a amateur like me. And trust me when I say, I am really slow on a bike.

Good thing then that I am a sitting judge at the PTA High Court currently, isn't it.....

Nah, just kidding.... I'm not a real judge.

But seriously, you don't ever take some personal joy in passing a person in a race? Any person? You won't take joy in passing Chris Vrooooom up a slope? Am I being judgy because I take pleasure in passing someone?

I'm so competitive I even race my shadow ,but he's on a more expensive bike than me (must be his wheels are bigger) I do beat him sometimes, but he is a bit of a shady character ...like most race-ist's

Shady character... :D  :D

If it helps, my bike is insured for more than my car now....

I have a Swift worth about 25-30k but do not own my own vehicle, I drive my fiances car(which is prob worth the same as my bike)..I took out a loan to buy my bike, which is now paid off... So I'm not sure what category I fall into, But i do think my priorities are inthe correct order!! :whistling:

Nope, he never passes me, no joy for him :P

I am sure he gets joy when he passes someone, regardless of what bike the other person is on.
