Opt out option does not work either

Yip, opted out, cost me the cost of an SMS and still was getting the SMS's. That's illegal.

Cycle lab, i want a refund... Any one who treats their customers this shoddily does not deserve custom at all.

Install an App on your phone called TrueCaller. You can set to reject calls and SMSs from numbers/people that irritate you

Wouldn't touch that app with a barge pole.

From their terms and conditions "You further agree and guarantee that, if You have opted in to participate in the Enhanced Search functionality, we may collect, use and share certain information regarding the contacts contained in Your device’s phone book (“Contact Information”) with other Users in accordance with the Truecaller Privacy Policy in order to provide the Services. By allowing Contact Information to be collected, You give Truecaller a right to use that Contact Information as a part of the Service and you guarantee that you have any and all permissions required to share such Contact Information with us."

thats how they get names linked to numbers - I dont have any covert contacts in my address book..but I find it helluva useful when someone not in my contact list phones me and it shows who it is...especially when it comes up and shows "spam"

edit...although I use Sync.me..which I guess will have similar terms

Hey Eldron, unlike yr nuts I did actually scratch. I called cycle lab to no avail.

Now, the real kicker here is. I received about 20 sms's before I opted out (AT MY COST) and I still get SMSs ...

hey, I am the customer...cyclelab are illegally spamming me so I have to now pick up the phone too.

no wonder we get shoddy service in ZA, customers to compliant.

Its about complaining to the right people, complaining to the wrong people doesnt help much to solve the problem. Not picking a fight, just trying to help.

Yip, I know how it works. The biggest problem I have with this is that you're sharing the contact details of everyone in your contact list, whether THEY agreed to it or not. Who you share your personal contact details with is up to you, but I don't think everyone in my address book would be happy if I shared their contact details with an unknown third party

that might explain some of the freaking sms's I have been getting ... I NEVER allow or click on any options where I am allowing anyone to contact me RE marketing material
