Veebee Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Gosh the commentary is killing me. Dan is awesome and consummately professional, but the peeceivably older gentlemen is particularly annoying, seems very unprofessional complaining about snacks, food, and accommodation, and is constantly called out for being incorrect, unnecessarily sensational, and just too excited for nothing by his co commentator. At time he just sounds a bit like someone who's too far past sanity and has been let out of a retirement village without permission. He's soo annoying to listen to, wish there was an option just to mute him.
gummibear Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Jungels in Pink. 24 Jerseys for Lux at the Giro.....one more than Germany now
carbon29er Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 He's soo annoying to listen to, wish there was an option just to mute him. There is. It's called Eurosport which you can stream on Tiz. For years I preferred Carlton Kirby to PnP, mainly because he came with King Kelly. But lately I'm relieved when we get Declan Quigley or Rob Hatch with King Kelly and Brian Smith.
carbon29er Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Well, that was a massively underwhelming afternoon wasted watching a bike race when the sun was shining and the temp was low 20s in Cape Town and I could have ridden for 2 hours. I hope the Giro gets going soon. I think Cav pointed it out, often boring. So far this year we have had 3 minutes on stage 1, and 10kms on stage 3 that have been worth watching.

If you had shuffled your day I'm sure you would have been as disappointed as I was. Small mercies is that Bob Jungels has taken over pink from his team mate rather than GeeWhiz the sheep shagger getting it.
Bub Marley Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Nice to see Quintana continuing his role as wheel sucker. I don't think I've ever seen a more boring cyclist. Every other GC contender will at least try to attack even if they fail. Nairo just sits there with the same express on his face. It's like watching paint dry. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

With the way sports is not too kind to pros put out to pasture, surely it's time to introduce more ex pros to the commentating, and young ex pros at that please. I love the insights and thought processes they introduce instead of the nonsense by these older professional commentators. But the half hourly complaint about accommodation and good is shocking. Not profession at all. I'm impressed with however well Dan handles him and feel for him constantly.
'Dale Posted May 9, 2017 Author Posted May 9, 2017 Commentary chirp of the day "There's Geraint Thomas with his 3D cinema specs..."
'Dale Posted May 9, 2017 Author Posted May 9, 2017 Jan Polanc, what a win for the 25 year old.I didn't think he'd make it heyWas pedaling squares from 5 kms out Brilliant brave what a win ????
'Dale Posted May 9, 2017 Author Posted May 9, 2017 Very impressive winNot easy to win a bike race hey "The climb was quite difficult because it was a constant headwind. So it was difficult after a long breakaway today. Probably the hardest day of my life."
Shebeen Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Where did jjvr get overhauled, saw he was 44sec behind polanc but that was all?
GrumpyOldGuy Posted May 9, 2017 Posted May 9, 2017 Well, that stage offered so much potential but delivered so little interest. I had to check I wasn't watching a TDF rerun. So much for Nibali wanting the pink on home ground, stuck his nose into the wind for 20 seconds and was gone. At least Zakarin made a runner and took back 14 seconds in less than 1.5 kms so he was on the move, had he gone earlier he may have won the stage, poor guy, I think he has been on the ground or in some sort of mechanical difficulty on every stage so far.
