On Twitter, Sunweb rider Chad Haga explained that the moto was stopped just after a right-hand bend, writing, “we couldn’t see it till the last moment and could only shout.”

I’ll aim to have a good rest day tomorrow, give the TT a good bash and then see where we stand. It’s obviously going to be super hard to win the overall now, but there are still stages to go for and we might still be able to move up into the top 10 or better. At the moment I just want to use the aggression, race hard and see what I can get out of it.”

Gee, Team Sky

Not sure what Froome has to do with the Giro or Quintana's racing style.

Was it the PPA's fault that the a moto caused the crash too? :P

Someone posted that Quintana is a wheelsucking bore.

I asked if him his opinion on Froome's excitement levels to see where he sets out his stall on boring vs excitement. Of course no answer received from him.

I did not ask you.

But did you ask via PM? If not, then it's a shared topic.

No problem with that. But answer the question, don't try add volatility where none exists by referencing Froome and PPA.

Bob Marley stated he, NQ, was boring to watch as he never gets dropped. Or something like that.

I guess the point is we think guys we don't fanboy are boring but the guys we do fanboy are extra exciting. A bit like being a ManYoo fan or not. They've dished dross for the past 6 or so years and are very boring to watch. As I'm not a ManYoo fan.  Arsenal on the other hand are very entertaining to watch, week in week out.

Now that Sky are out of the equation I can enjoy all the contenders and how they ride.

I feel for Geraint Thomas, but ...

Did anybody notice how no-one signals an obstruction in the road?

Are pro riders too high and mighty to do that?

The policeman was perhaps wrong to be stopped at that point, but he was as far off the road as possible, and was on the white line demarcating the edge of the road.

The riders had the whole road width bar 0,5m?

Its was possible to have 10 riders astride at that point.

Is this not simply a normal racing accident?

Well done, another non Froome related topic turned into a Froome one....

Chad Haga was near the front and he explained that they just come around a right hand corner at speed and did not se him till the last second.

No, they are not too high and mighty, they are actually very closely knit, and more often than not signal each other.

No, the policeman was not as far off the road as possible.

I agree with you that this isnt a normal racing accident, normally motorbikes are not parked in the road.

Who are you trying to apportion the blame too? I am struggling to understand your post in summary?

I don't know about the reaction time issue Patch, but according to this photo the motorbike was inside the white line on the edge of the road and not in the road. The issue was more the pannier sticking out and the first rider attempting to avoid the pannier, and then the chaos after that reaction. Also note that the grassy side was sloping down and not level with the road.
