They seem legit.

Had some friend recommend them.

Coggan's book (Training and Racing with Power) went quick, Friel's book on the other hand is taking forever to read.

PS: Friel and Training Peaks are planning a trip SA side in the September/Oct time frame for workshops,

when I hear more will post here.

How quick can Coggan's book go. It's almost 400 pages!

IMO, it's not something that you read from cover to cover, but rather going over a chapter a few times and comparing their graphs with your own. That's probably why I get more benefit out of WKO4 than the TP premium membership.

It's full of useful references and technical ideas

Not like Wiggins' biography

Well worth it

Where have you ordered/bought your "Training and racing with a power meter" book?

I see Takealot sells "The cyclists training bible by Joe Friel" but not "Training and racing with a power meter" (Ok they do but only in a E-Book, and I dont like those)

I can get them both on Amazon but their shipping is crazy expensive!

Loot as well. Loot as the dead-tree version, Takealot has the ebook. This, bring a reference book, may be better in paper

I'm old school, for technical reading nothing like paper in hand, with a pencil and highlighter.

But also got to confess bought some food/diet books recently on Amazon in Kindle format, it's nice in that I have access to them on my MAC, on my iPad and I have installed kindle on my wife's iPad also using my amazon account which gives her access to the same books.

I use my PMC religiously. It really is the best way to judge where you are. My fitness score hover around 70-75 these days. I'm happy with that. Since joining trainer road I can actually maintain it there with not too much training hours in a week and bonus is my form/freshness mostly stays in positive.

Before trainer road I struggled to keep fitness score even at 60 and when I hit 65 my form normally dips well below 0. Now and can maintain the 70's take 2 easy days before a race and hit that race on 70 with a freshness of 8 or higher.

I made peace with the fact that for the time I have available I probably will always stay in the 70 to 80 fitness range except during multi day events

Which IDT are you using with Trainer road?

I downloaded the KWO4+ program now to trial. It's to busy for me and not so user friendly. Guess I will get use to it but copying over a crap load of workout files now just to start off an accurate base is just too much

The snap or the big brother? I am on the snap with TR only started with the snap last week did not do any serious training with it, apart from a 10 mi test run. With the snap in erg mode the power feels just much harder to achieve than on the cycleops fluid trainer i used? It is also something to get used to the erg mode?? Is it possible to get a route from my Garmin edge 800 into Trainer road to simulate?

Using the big brother. Depending on which platform you use you can download a route to ride. Trainer road don't support that but cycleops is excellent for that. I am subscribing there for the winter to do the online races and a few of my favorite local routes simulated
