Normally it works out at 15,4% which includes all duty, handling fees and VAT.

Just for clarity, the VAT alone is 15.4% so you will pay handling/admin fees on top of that. VAT on imports is charged as 14% of 110% of the value (which is the same as 15.4% of the actual value obviously). You would also pay duties on top of that if any apply - clothing as an example would definitely have duties.

Clothing is 40%. It's normally just been 15.4% of goods value excluding postage. I normally just work on 16% to avoid surprises.

@Cav, which option did you use for rapid delivery? Did you have to pay any extra fees this side besides the 15.4%?

Chose the DHL Express option (total I paid Friday was R1050 including DHL)

Edit: No duties on top of the 15.4% no.

Paid this to SARS/DHL before delivery:

Thus a total of R1330.48 was paid (R665 a tyre to your door in 4 days)

Question, if my package has been in transit for 6 days it's technically here?

Last thing the tracking said was routed to destination

Trakpak number should take you to Jerseypost website. Keep checking there until it shows arrived in destination country. Give it a day or two for Customs to scan it and allocate a local number. You can now enter local number on the Post Office app and it will automatically update you on status. It's not perfect so sometimes your package will be at local mail hub but still showing in transit. You can call local post office or Capemail  (Epping) to check but rather wait for EMS to call you to arrange delivery. You can then tell the you will collect personally from Capemail or wait for delivery. EMS processing is normally quick less than 3 weeks. Never use cheaper option with Totalcycling and if its urgent use DHL with CRC.

I have discovered Bikebug in Australia and their prices and service is pretty good. Postage is Aus $25. I haven't seen any Black Friday notices yet. I came across Starbike as well from Germany and prices look good as well. SIgmasport does not ship to SA. Westbrook Cycles, Probikeshop and Merlin are also worth a look.
