Wider tyre on rear v Front

My back tire just went and I have a 2.4 x king tire in the front of my Spaz Camber. I have just bought a Purgatory 2.3 tire as I was told they great front tires and the x King I felt was a average front tire. So I put the x King on the back and purgatory on the front. What are the disadvantages I might experience riding with a wider rear tyre? If any?

I ride a lot of rocky sketchy stuff so I wanted a good front tyre.

It just looks a bit odd but will the handling be effected?

Purgatory 2.3 makes an awesome front tyre. Having more cornering grip in front and more volume at rear makes sense for traction and support. I would definitely move the X King to rear.

I run 2.25 WTB trail boss in the rear and 2.3 Spez Ground control up front and it has been an awesome combo! Both these tyres really fill out their size!

Think about it. Your front wheel steers the bike. Think about what happens when any two wheeler loses front end grip. It generally results in a scary moment or a nasty crash onto your shoulder with no time to prevent it.

When a back tyre lets go its far easier to control and probably less likely to result in a broken collar bone.
