Anyone ordered from Ubyk?

I just want to know if anyone has ordered from Ubyk previously and how long the package took to get to them? I placed an order 2 weeks ago, but the problem is it was sent without tracking option so I have no idea where it is.

Not shopped with them, but you going to wait a lot longer if sent by normal post.  Things are taking a long time to arrive in SA and then there is a huge backlog at customs.  There another thread on the hub talking about it.  I have 2 parcels from Italy on 10/10/2016 and China 17/10/2016 and am still waiting.

i ordered from them about 2 years ago. Went very smoothly, albeit took very, very long. I presume the duration was down to the fact the packet was sent via royal mail. I wished back then they at least offered a priority tracked delivery option, but no joy.

edit: checked the emails from 2014, and i guess i have less patience than i realized: from time to order to first notification from EMS, that I have a package to collect, took about 20 days.

I ordered from them recently. It took about 3 weeks for the package to arrive via Royal Mail. The absence of tracking option was average but it is what it is. In the end they actually sent me the wrong item but happily corrected their error and sent the correct item via priority mail at no extra cost to me, which was pretty rad. Their communication can at times be average but overall it all worked out for me and their prices are pretty good.

If you need something in a hurry then they are probably not the first choice but if you're willing to wait (and know full well that you will be) then they seem to be a decent place to order from.

Thanks everyone.

So I will be contacted by EMS when it is ready for collection?

I am in no rush to get the item. Got a great deal(saved R2000) on the E*13 11 speed 9-44 cassette which I only intend on using mid to end of January when the current XX1 has no life left. As long as I get it before Christmas I will be happy.

Its been more than 5 weeks now and still nothing. I am starting to get a bit worried...

Did you get a tracking number, if so you can track your parcel http://www.17track.net/en

You can also input your overseas tracking number into the SAPO tracking system and if has been logged on the system will advise where it is http://www.parceltrack.co.za/

Am still waiting for my parcels 10/10/2016 and 17/10/2016, both are in transit to my local PO since 11/11/2016

So ya things are not moving quickly!!

I also got a bit worried about the slow delivery speed of my order and asked Ubyk about their policy if something is not delivered. The response was: "After a standard period of 10 days from date of shipment (or 24 days for international), we will formally declare the shipment lost and reship at our expense." I assumed it to be working days

Perhaps it is worth following up with them, but as mentioned by shaper you can't discount the speed of the local PO contributing to slow delivery.

I have followed up with them to try and get some kind of indication of where the package is, but as they use Royal Mail I had no luck.

I don't need the part urgently, I would just like to know if its still on route to me or not.

Ill check with them again.

Ah, yes well it is a tricky one then as I don't think Ubyk really have a way of tracking the package either. They can only say whether or not it was sent, but hopefully they will have means by which to assist you. Hopefully the part you ordered isn't lost in the postal abyss. Positive vibes

that's the big problem with using Royal Mail. it's a Royal PITA when it comes to knowing to any degree of certainty if your parcel is en route or not. Just hang in there. It is end of the year and online shopping is massively choking up delivery systems around the world. That said, Christmas might be a stretch...

How does it work when it lands this side? Does EMS contact me to settle the VAT and organise delivery?

My previous orders has all been tracked so that was easier. I did not have the option to send it as a tracked parcel with UByk...
