Does anyone know how to set up a strava club for those of us training for this?

I don't have a clue

I'd be less inclined to miss a ride if I see everyone else is training hard.

I don't have a clue how to set up a strava club either - but I would love to join.  Nothing like a bit of strava motivation

So excited for this race!!

A few steps:

Create the club

Just follow bread crumbs on Strava

Then ask members here to PM you (whoever the organizer) to send you their Strava IDs

Our group  happened to ride the section of the route between Howick and Nottingham road today.  Gps bombed, and I lost all my meters climbed.  Most times when we ride this section we climb into a nasty headwind.  When the day comes I'm going to make sure I'm in a bunch here, its suicide to be left alone

The section we rode today has easy gradients, they are just long and continuous.  Your usual gears should be fine.  The steeper stuff comes later.  There you might need something kinder.  Have a look at Spoke's ride and look carefully at the gradients and try compare them to some of your usual climbs.  I'm sure this would give you an idea if your gears are ok.

Unfortunately had to skip the ride today.. we have people coming over and I found myself in the bloody kitchen[emoji35]

You better get cracking tomorrow, Dale' is going to want to see those tanlines soon   And no sitting on the stoep in your bibs :P

You know all those steady rides has really made a difference.. when I did a mtb ride the other day I decided to go a bit harder on the 2e lap as the kids did the first lap with us and much talking was happening during that 1st lap..and I tell you I had hubby battling to stay with me...who knew hey

Also I probably needed the week or so rest it was quite a big work load going from zero

But damn it's lekker feeling good on the bike.. tomorrow we are planning a 5 hour chit chat ride..[emoji4]

I see no change to Maluti's date.. got an email saying it is on 1 April.

Yeah, they asked the question and most of the "already entered" replies were to keep it the same. In our case, it was "hope to see you in 2018".

L'EtapeSA training for me starts tomorrow morning - looking forward to it (the event, not the training).

Aah I see.

I m still going strong with my recipe.. changing it this week to 2hr, 3hr, 2hr..rest repeat..then next week take it up to 9hrs 3day cycle.. planning is to complete this building endurance phase end January. (Also changed it up a bit last week.. as I just rode my bike not worried about time or HR.)

There is an event close by on the 28th.. and I am not sure if I should do the event (80km race) as it is falls on the same week as what my endurance build period ends., so trying to decide if I should just what the heck do it to get the idea of race pace or wait for the other events in Feb? .. advice is welcome

Has anybody got a profile for this race? I have seen the video on the L'Etape web site but that is relatively meaningless.
