Don't call me crazy

Every person's journey is so individual - we're all quite different and so different strokes work for different folks.

Bottom line though: you are what you eat. the end

To keep the balance: mindful eating and dosaged exercise and a peaceful mind.

Mens sana in corpore sano - "a healthy mind in a healthy body".

Don't call me crazy lol

Eat natural, unprocessed, un-sugared real food as much as possible, in moderate portions.

Exercise to clear the mind and burn the excess energy.

Do what you need to keep the mind in check.

Easy, right  :whistling:

ps weighing every morning is ok for control purposes, as long as you remember that depending on what you eat, your weight can and will fluctuate by as much 1-2kg! Carbs store more water...

Quick update, weight has stayed pretty much unchanged, but I knew that this would happen by the weekend already as it was a mates birthday and we had a couple of beers (a couple of course meaning much more than a couple) and eating through the week was also not spectacular (clean but with little regard to portion sizes, just trying to get in the habit of eating clean though)

The big goal for the week though was getting back into training and I can honestly that went very well. I have done four training session in the past week, two 40 min rides out on the road, a 40min 6k jog and 30 min on the spinning bike. So from that perspective I think it was a good start.

I am in Durban for the reminder of the week which makes everything but training difficult so till Monday that will still be my focus. Runs along the beach front are a welcome distraction to the usual joburg training regime.

Definitely a good start, eating clean and training like a machine right out of the gate usually ends up in hating it all and stopping after a week or two.

As long as you are making changes and sticking to it.

Okay right so a bit of a summary of the past week thinking any training was going to get done in Durban was I'll admit (even though I went with the best intentions) slightly delusional.

Monday was taken to recover from the weekend. Tuesday ate clean but had a bit of a lingering airway infection. Wednesday started watching portion sizes and got into a spinning class (all in about 1400cal deficit) today same with portion control did a 30 min swim.

Focus will now be on building some consistency with both training and diet for the next week.

Also 3 days off the smokes. Oh also worth mentioning RHR and BP looking better BP currently 135/72 RHR +-65

I am sorry.

The buck stops here.

No. Plain and simple. Water makes you rust. Alcohol is a good preservative.

Okay so here is how things are standing at the moment, did not training Nov or Dec diet was absolutely rubbish partied pretty much trough the entire festive season.

Fast forward to January this year weight was back up to all time high (154kg). Decided new years eve the buck stops here.

Started training in January taking up the 365 challenge, 48 days in today, one upper respiratory infection and still in it, took 20min walks or very low intensity Wattbike session while sick.

Given that I have obviously done a fairly substantial block of training for the year so far and watched my eating like a hawk I have since 1 Jan lost 13,7kg. There are also now some (half) decent miles in my legs.

All of the above considered I have had time to revaluate the idea that one can go from 0 to ultra in a couple of months, so instead of abandoning ship I am shifting the goal posts to a more attainable target. With training going the way it is now and weight loss been good I am pretty sure if I sustain current habits I will be able to finish Trans Baviaans this year, that is the new target

even if you are 20 years old...nothing changes over night...boy did i learn this the hard way.

2015 -2018 ...there have been minor improvements...of all the achievements since i started...the most important...i am still trying...the day i stop...all that effort is wasted....my weight has fluctuated over the months...but the end result is still less than when i started.

looking at your weight i can tell you that your blood test results will be as bad as mine were in 2015...all sorts of issues...even though i am still around 18 kg over weight...my health has improved to a point that all my blood test results are within limit (working on the LDL...which is now just over the limit but reduced drastically since 2015 without taking pills)
