The only thing missing today was a little bit of co-operation from some other riders... But it's okay. I did my bit and I'm happy with what I did. That's cycling. You race for 300km and you can win by a little or lose by a little. I did my best."

Clear to see how Sagan went too early and reached top speed probably 50 metres before the line and ran out of speed endurance.

And the brilliant Kwai timed it just right after being in the right position behind the highly marked World Champ.

The strongest don't always win.

The beauty of cycling.

Beautiful racing. ????????

Yoh what a finish..

Yeah.. Sags maybe started his sprint too soon.. but hey.. what a finish.. he tore that groups to shreds on the Poggio..panic stations for plenty riders.

Sagan wins even though he loses..

What a finish after so many km..

These 3 are going to light up races for many years to come.. brilliant stuff.

hello .....

Apparently Viviani was the choice should it be a sprint finish

But then Sagan attached

And Kawasaki took it on himself

Kwia also solo breaked last year if I recall on the descent

What a racer

According to Bora's race director, they plan was obviously to go solo on the Poggio, but they expected that if riders went with it would've been Alaphilippe and Kwaitoski.

Pretty soon teams will have to start focusing on riding against Kwaitoski and Alaphilippe too and not just Sagan [emoji6]

I'm happy with Kwaito's win - cunningness, tenacity, pace and power, and a really nice guy.

Pete-ou is facing much the same the scenario Sparticus faced in these big one-day races, he must just try not to take passengers when he breaks, but certainly there is merit in the other two being able to do that acceleration up the final climb to match Sagan.

I feel it was a bit of a selfish win, nobody was willing to help Sagan at the front and the 2 basically sucked his wheel and pulled off right at the end like amateurs

Yes I know it's professional racing and it's part of clever tactics but Sagan must stop being such a nice guy.............
