Is there anything better than Saint Flat Pedals?

Considering their amazing build/durability, easy maintenance/spares availability, easily replaced pins(bolts that screw in from the other side, buy SS pins from any Bolt supply) etc what else can top the Saints?

What drawbacks do they have and if there is better what and why?

both mine and Raydek's are bent, probably from one too many heavy landings and rock strikes. Otherwise, they're easily serviceable, though on the narrow / small side for my size 12's.

For what you pay, though, you can't really go wrong. I'm branching out to other pedals now, though, in the hope of getting something bigger and narrower. But that costs money...

These have been bulletproof for me. Sealed bearings and really grippy.

Those are good for the money, pins can't screw in from the other side though.

I think the short answer could be "yes". The longer answer will involve some questions and what you perceive to be "best".

I'm sure you can get better in many aspects but all else being the same pound for pound it seems they are hard to beat. Granted they probably won't suit everyone's needs.

The fact that they are so easily serviced is a winner and no issues getting spares, all very well importing/finding some amazing pedals only to find a yr or 2 down the line that the bushing/bearings are neigh impossible to get.

I have been super happy with my Saints. Value for money and great quality. Hit them a good few times on some rocks and they still going strong.

Easybike had them on a great special for Black Friday, R799 I think. Not sure if they still on special.

Now I go read this review, check all the negative comments from 2016 about reliability at the end of the page??!

"Start clicking"?

1star review on CRC:

Have now had 3 sets of these, all have the same problem. Seems the right pedal's bearings go after about 25 - 30 miles of forest riding. Very stiff and can hardly move. Starts off with a clicking noise, then just gets worse. I must have really bad luck or Shimano have a batch problem.
CRC kindly exchanged for Nuekproof Proton. Fingers crossed these fair better.

The negative reviews are very much in the minority but most of them are rather. serious, bearing failure not long after purchase and lots of snapped axles, wonder if there was a bad batch where they screwed up the forging on the axle, bent is one thing but snapping cro-moly axles shouldn't be such a common thing?
