Do I have everything for tubeless?

Here is a step by step explanation:

1. Remove rim strip

2. Roll the gorilla tape around twice. Making sure it is right and that there are no air bubbles. Use one inch roll.

3. Cut a small cross in gorilla tape where valve hole is and push valve through.

4. Put tire on.

5. Pump up using floor pump. It should inflate and seal.

6. Remove valve core and inject stans through valve into tire. Do this whole tire is inflated. RE insert valve core and pump to desired pressure.

You may find that the floor pump doesn't work. It usually does if you use two layers of tape. If it doesn't use a compressor to inflate the tire.

Good luck and enjoy Montagu.

Good quality Sealant and a bomb to bead

That there is really *** advice.

You never use a bomb with any tyre sealant. It stuffs it up. Remove the valve core and pump it up at the petrol station if you don't have your own compressor. But don't bomb a fresh install. EVER

Please clarify " it stuffs it up" I have used a bomb many times without any negative consequences.

Sometimes the bombs makes a rubber foreign object out of the sealant

Two things to add to this if your gorilla tape doesn't want to sit lekka to the profile of the hoop use a hairdryer to lightly heat the rim and tape, works great! Also use surgical spirits to clean hoop inner after you remove any existing tape before application of gorilla tape

The Co2 reacts badly with a lot of sealants.

I'd love a clear answer on how quickly it damages the sealant - I always use a bomb to seat a tyre, then leave it for an hour for the sealant to get to where it needs, then totally deflate the tyre and pump it up with a floor pump

Coming from a really low knowledge base here but I always assumed any damage was caused by the low temperature of the Co2 hitting the sealant, which would mean pretty much instant damage?

Pretty sure someone will be along soon to point out how wrong I am.

I've never had any sealant solidifying or balling up, so I don't think it's instant....

Badly explained by me there.

Damage done instantly, effects if damage showing up over time?

That said with me being a cheap sod I would never waste a bomb trying to seat a tyre, I will struggle for hours and eventually walk to a garage before doing that. I have issues...

I've opened up tyres months later, and never found these effects, so I have a feeling the damage only happens if co2 and ammonia are in contact over a period of days/weeks/months ... but would love to hear a more definitive answer

+1 for gorilla tape

+1 for stans

+1 for compressor

+1 for boerklong

Only ever use a co2 bomb if necessary (like in a race).  even on a normal training ride I will rather try my hand pump first.  co2 makes ugly stans babies.
