.........I just received the Frame, and I have just uploaded the photo. Now searching vigorously for a Lefty Fork.

Ah ha, a fellow from Cape town responded to my 'wanted'advert but he is not a Hubber, is there a Hubber in the cape that can help me check it out? I will truly appreciate it.

If you can please kindly PM me. My regards.

Hello everyone,am afraid am slowing down on this build to secure and build up a touring fram I found. Need I say my Bike touring for now is priority number one.

However, my Lapierre project is not abandoned but will considrably slow down to accommodate my Touring bike build

The lefty idea is cool, just make sure you get all the right adaptors.

To build a lefty onto a normal frame a adapter kit is required. You might need to hunt around for one.

Lefty's are cool, enjoy it.

No hunting needed. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/161560-headsets/

The thing you're looking for is made by Project321.

When you're ready.

And stocked and supported locally by me. I better improve my marketing.

For exclusivity sake, I would go for a nice carbon Lefty Fork.

The Lefty Steering Adapter from www.carbon29er.com is apparently the bees knees, and in my view quite reasonably priced. I think you will find everything you need for such a conversion from carbon29er.

If you do go this route, please post pics of the final build.

Lefty's are definitely cool on any frame. This one is 110mm travel PBR with carbon rims laced to a Project321 Lefty hub.

The carbon lefty is only available with the XLR, X-lock remote, and weighs 42 grams less than the Alu with PBR. Apart from the lock out the internals are identical.

The only real stumbling block on an installation in a normal frame is the length of the head tube. The standard Lefty is 138mm and some XL bikes have a head tube of 135mm. For this you need to look at the 163mm Max Lefty.

Stem is a standard stem as the adapter is tapered, not straight through 1.5 like on a Cannondale.

Of course, there is also the newer SuperMax Lefty or Lefty 2.0 which handles bigger drops.

I tried a Lefty (Carbon DRL 110mm) on both a Lapierre HT and DS XR 529 bikes. It does work well, but I found it changed the geometry by lifting the front significantly. So you need to move more forward to ensure weight is on the front when cornering at speed...

This will also depend on the frame size I guess. I use a small frame, so this might be the reason.

The XL frame could be OK.

I'm now using it on a Cotic medium frame. Works well!

My 5 cents...
