Constant front derailleur adjustments every 50km

Hi All

I have a 2x11 setup and find that every 50km+- the front derailleur starts rubbing on the chain in the top and bottom rear gears.

Is this normal for the derailleur to "go out" or the cable to stretch that quick as I find myself having to take the bike in or adjust it constantly.

Additionally how quiet should the ride be? Should you hear only the tires (this is what i was told) or does occasional clicking of the chain and rubbing of the derailleurs still count as being normal?

Will have a look at the pivot bracket tonight and see that the derailleur is secured properly. Rear one never has a issue only the front one as of late

The metal cables do not stretch. The housing they run in bed in and that causes the slack.

Try get a barrel adjuster but in-line, I find I gave that a turn every now and then on my Venge (Lots of internal cabeling) Not so much with the Supersix.

as pure savage said, it's the housing. related to that could be where the hosing meets the cable stops, the cable stops themselves or even the ferrules weren't put on properly, and the housing is moving relative to the ferrules?

Could be a number of things. Derailleur, crank or chainrings may be loose, cables could be poorly routed or installed or the pinch bolt may be loose.

Start at the shifter and work your way down from there.

On that subject, thanks for replacing all of mine on the giant. Bike worked 100% in Dec, thought it was a new groupset!

One of the cheapest ways to get that new bike feeling back, glad it worked.
