Bateleur1 Posted June 6, 2017 Posted June 6, 2017 Well we have had good rain since yesterday and although this morning was very tempting to cycle after the public holiday, i had to opt out as I will be working from home tommorow and need to take the laptop home. Don't want to risk the weather with the company laptop in hte back
samson99 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 I opted to not cycle to work this morning. Hairy, now is the time to surpass me. But seriously though, glad i took the car.Would have been a really interesting ride though.

I have to deal with the same thing when winter hits here. Sure I can ride 365 days, but the costs in kitting yourself out to ride in ice and snow and the risk you take to ride on ice, one has to actually remind yourself why you are commuting.

samson99 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 others in our group did cycle thoughProbably from Gauteng those peeps.
Bateleur1 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 others in our group did cycle though Not me. Working from home today. Kids have school holidays and the mrs has meetings today (she works from home normally). So I got volunteered to do home office today. Just as well as there is quite a bit of wind today. Might go for a lunch ride but that won't count as a commute
Bateleur1 Posted June 7, 2017 Posted June 7, 2017 also out ... bit flue'y so also took the car, feels like it is hitting the chest so will more than likely only cycle next week again Get well soon. Not going to press the like button
samson99 Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Cycling to work this morning was awesome. Got rain but didn't last long.Cold and wet more from the road than the actual rain. But was totally worth it. Missed the commute yesterday.
Bateleur1 Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Was also back on the bike the first time this week this morning. Body feels like a ton of bricks but I am slightly sleep deprived. Took a easy ride with high cadence and just relax. Feel actually so much better now at the office.

Don't want to risk the weather with the company laptop in hte back Sometimes I have to get my laptop to work or home. I just 'double bag' it in those black dustbin bags. I've ridden in rain before and had no problems. I obviously prefer not riding with it, but sometimes have no choice

I am less worried about the latptop getting wet. I am slightly more concerned about slippery conditions. If it was my own laptop i would not be bothered but since it is a company laptop I am a tad more cautious.
