The VWS page has the details directly, including a SnapScan code - http://vws.org.za/support

Alternatively pop it into Myles' account - it's all going to the same place anyway.

;)

Rad stuff!!!! Will do a deposit tomorrow morning.

Oh damn!  I didn't know that!  That's the problem with deciding to do this yesterday and not looking into anything...

Is the road going to be closed?

No the road is not closed ...

you just going to have the runners running on the same side that you climbing ...

Race starts at 5:30 .. should take the top runners about 1:15- 1:30 to get to the top ....

so you will have runners descending from about 6:45 till about 9:30 or so .. ( i was one of the last and was about that time)

Just looking at 2016 results .. there will be about 2000 runners during that 3 hours or so ...

I see on the post that we can deposit directly into VWS account

Banking details on there website

http://vws.org.za/support

You can also use SNAPSCAN

Going to use Myles' account as it's easier for me to get to Std bank than a Nedbank branch as I am still on a work contract in Mossel Bay and am bound by work hours and ease of movement (no access to private transport and hiring a taxi can be costly).

Hey Guys

The donations from ASG have arrived !

Will post a pic a bit later.

With the money that we have we will be buying more energy bars and eye drops.

We will then pool everything and give half to the newslands fire base and the other half to the jonkershoek fire base.

As an aside, the Boland Mtns have taken flame as well.

The Paarl fire has claimed more homes, this time a well known wine estate manor house.

The fire on Vredehoek claimed a few homes as did the one in simons town.

The VWS guys deserve our full support.

I just received a proof of payment for R884.80 going to VWS, so at least we're not doing it for nothing!

some donations may take a while to get through. Banks being the scarbuncles that they are.

Doesn't really matter how long it takes, as long as it gets in there!

Donation(s) made. FYI split it into two one has the Fire reference and the one for Dirty's Everesting challenge is VWSEC.

@Dirtypot if the sign off information holds true and I do sign off tomorrow I shall come join you and Guy for a few ascents and descents of Red Hill!

Edit: Dirtypot, you and Guy owe me 17 repeats of RH!

We managed to do it!  Summited Everest on Red Hill!

It was a long day in the saddle, starting at 02h30 on Saturday morning and riding until 00h30 on Sunday - 22 hours total time, 81 laps, 310km.

The wind was relentless, never letting up at all and blowing loads of dust and ash all over us.  I had to ride with sunglasses on at night otherwise I just couldn't see properly.

We managed to maintain a consistent pace throughout the day only slowing by about a minute for the last ten laps or so - I was literally falling asleep at that point, only had two hours of sleep the previous night.

Don't know what else to say...  We went up and down the same hill many many many times.
