Shebeen Posted January 23, 2017 Share We managed to do it! Summited Everest on Red Hill! It was a long day in the saddle, starting at 02h30 on Saturday morning and riding until 00h30 on Sunday - 22 hours total time, 81 laps, 310km. The wind was relentless, never letting up at all and blowing loads of dust and ash all over us. I had to ride with sunglasses on at night otherwise I just couldn't see properly. We managed to maintain a consistent pace throughout the day only slowing by about a minute for the last ten laps or so - I was literally falling asleep at that point, only had two hours of sleep the previous night. Don't know what else to say... We went up and down the same hill many many many times. bliksem, on a fat bike nogal!!!!
dirtypot Posted January 23, 2017 Share bliksem, on a fat bike nogal!!!! Ya, I don't know how he did it. It's an incredibly light fat bike, but it's still a fat bike!

Bonus Posted January 23, 2017 Share I really like this idea! But looking at one of my local climbs and thinking how many times I'd have to do it - it's a hell of a ride. Maybe I could work towards achieving it at the end of the year . . . . #inspired dirtypot
Slowbee Posted January 30, 2017 Share The invoices for buying the goodies to go to VWS. This way you know your ummmmm money did not contribute to Nkandla's sweet shop. A HUGE thank you to ASG and especially Gavin for all the help.
