It happened just outside Wellington, en route to Hermon, at around 6am. A young, barefooted guy from Stellenbosch hit her while she was driving in the yellow lane. He hit her so hard that there is literally nothing left of her bicycle - just tiny pieces of metal and rubber. Her body was in such a bad way that the paramedics didn't allow her BF to identify her. She went through his windscreen. There was a lot of oil under the car, they believe he wanted to drive off but then the car ceased. He was taken away in a police van after someone at the scene insisted he be tested for alcohol. So why does he get to live? He destroyed countless lives because of his recklessness / intoxication. Will he even spend time in jail? This is SO unfair!#rantover

RIP Dalene Boonzaaier. Strength to her friends & family.
