May we all follow the rules of the road - and be mindful of all road users - cars - bikes - cyclists - pedestrians - people. LouisF17 Posted January 17, 2017 Posted January 17, 2017 Personally I think phone usage is something a lot of people underestimate on how distracting it can be on the road, before you know it you have drifted into oncoming traffic / into the yellow line. Not saying that is what happened here, just it reminds me to also be more careful Take note how many folks you see on the road texting or phoning someone whilst driving, I commute daily between Paarl and Stellenbosch, you'll be shocked!

Take note how many folks you see on the road texting or phoning someone whilst driving, I commute daily between Paarl and Stellenbosch, you'll be shocked!

A lot can and still needs to be done in this regard. Stiff jail sentences should be mandatory, not even a fine. Jailtime.

A study in the US found that when you text and drive you are three times more dangerous than someone who is driving drunk!

This is all I know at present. We are a few guys cycling there and back from Durbanville.
