DSTV coverage of European tours

So firmly in the grip of an obsession healthy interest in cycling that I am considering getting DSTV to watch the upcoming season of European tours. (Our TV is connected to a HTPC for movies and music but has never been connected to any TV signal apart from a short period for the soccer world cup - so this is a big step)

Do the various sports channels provide sufficient coverage of these tours to make it worthwhile? I suppose I would buy an installation and a decoder and pay for a few months and then disconnect it again until next year.

There is no need to waste your money getting DSTV for cycling.

Every race in Europe and most elsewhere are streamed live on about 15 different streams.

The streams even give you a choice of languages and commentators and most are in HD.

I am a total noob when it comes to streaming. Where do you go for streaming? Do you pay a subscription on the sites or do you just click an start the streaming?

There are various sites that stream cycling. Ask the question closer to race day as they are pirate free sites and tend to move domains to avoid detection.

Bud, if you want to do things a bit less illegal than piracy, get yourself a VPN for your pc and subscribe on a monthly basis to eurosport. Then you fool eurosports' area restrictions by setting your vpn to europe.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than pirate sites with the ads and potential for viruses and malware.

Is Eurosport commentary in English, and does it stream HD?

Thanks for all the input. Glad they do offer coverage.

Streaming is a problem my side because ADSL just doesn't work and the six months I spent dealing with Telkom about it took years off my life - no fibre in my area and so reliant on mobile data which makes streaming prohibitively costly.

DSTV is met with a "if you want to you can" from il duce who really doesn't think it's a good idea. I know this from experience.

Thinking about it.

Just got an MTN contract with 50GB free data monthly, at R300/month, which makes mobile data much more cost effective
