Snycros side entry bottle cages

So I've had to get a side entry bottle cage for the first time and went with the syncros one... Its destroyed 2 bottles so far. The first one was old and I thought it was a coincidence that the new cage lead to it leaking, but it was pretty obvious what happened to the second one. Anyone had this before?

Do I have to set foot in a spez store to get my hands on one?

unfortunately you will have to - call first to check so you don't have to go twice - the plastic ones are cheaper than the carbon ones but are often out of stock.

Thanks for the advice

yes , but honestly those are the best cages in the world bar none

I like them but they are ridiculously expensive, think R315 or something per cage [emoji102]

I have the Spez ones and they are excellent.

However, I also have the plastic Lezyne ones and they are also good and a fair bit cheaper. They are however not as indestructible.

Thanks eddy. I'll have a look at those as well

Are they all good, plastic vs carbon? Only difference is in weight and material types, but ability to keep the bottles in place?

exceptionally good and near indestructible - I give them away before they break because they look bad but work fine - only tried the plastic ones not the carbon.

Best cages available currently

I must say, I am not enjoying the side entry cages. I find it takes a lot more concentration to get the bottle back in, with the result that I am probably drinking less than I should, waiting for dirt road / straight smoothed jeep track before taking a sip. With practice, I am getting more adept at it, but its still just so bloody finnicky. So much easier to drink on the road bike.
