Mamil Posted January 24, 2017 Share I also really dislike being turned into a billlboard with sponsor names etcetera so plain in that sense. Â For road i want bright vivid bold, reflective. For mtb i want something more subtle, darker colours. My favourite mtb shirt is from enjoy and makes me look like a quagga. Gavster229

Long Wheel Base Posted January 24, 2017 Share IF the stuff is on par with the other European brands then I would buy local. BUT in all honesty if I was in the market for example a R1500 pair of bibs and I was comparing a local brand to a foreign brand and the quality was the same I would ask why isn't the local brand cheaper. For the same quality I would expect the local brand to be cheaper. I have paid R1200 for a pair of local bibs and they are only ok. I won't buy them again for that price because their quality is lower than some pairs of European bibs that cost about the same. Long Wheel Base Posted January 24, 2017 Share santinialecastelli if they made em here id still buy em I would imagine those fall under the option: Brand named kits e.g: Giant, Specialized etc. (5 votes [12.82%]) Gavster229

We are looking at the price structure and it is very tricky. getting to the same level as international brands is very costly, especially importing fabrics etc so thats usually why the prices are the same as the international brands. Long Wheel Base
Long Wheel Base Posted January 24, 2017 Share except they aren't mostly made in china and of course they are 'bella in sella'Â Ok I see what you meant. So Name brands that are not from china etc but made there VS name brands made in Italy etc.I have some Ftech, Castelli and Panda kit and I believe the first 2 are made in Italy where as panda is made here but with Italian materials. I would say there is a slight difference in quality of the end product. Gavster229 and bikebloke

Eventually you end up with a product that everything except the design work is done in the far east. Is it still "local" then?
eccc whippet Posted January 24, 2017 Share personally i prefer to pay the little extra and get the better quality and the service...i see it in the bibs i am using at present...assos...fox...first ascent.  assos service was what i expected for the price i paid...an email to them explaining my situation...new bib delivered to my door...there was nothing wrong with the fabric...just a bunching issue in the high mileage chamois. fox...they did replace the bib without an issue...however it was a quality issue with the stitching. first ascent...no complaints about the quality...i got what i paid for the bib...they are now worn out and ready to be replaced...i need to decide what to replace them with...i might just get a cheapie pair again for using on the trainer. Gavster229
