How does is climb and corner at 140mm?

I find that with the rigid, which is lil over 500mm A2C measurement, climbs originally felt like the front was too high and unweighted. But then I realised actually it's my fitness..

Reasonably fit now and commuting weekly again, and cornering is tops at this BB height. I had it at a lower BB height as well which was also fine but straights suffered.

Actually how does one really know if the A2C at 140mm will be fine? How to judge? Or what's it based on. Looks wise I'm sure it will appear very attractive, especially with the thin tubing and thick suspension pipes.

It all depends how you setup your sag. 10% sag is going to feel like a tower compared to 30-35%.

the 140mm @ 30% feels just perfect, makes me lean forward into climbs and tech sections, but it never feels like its "nose light"

It is going to be a very slow build as it is a bike that I don't "need" right now and there are other things at home requiring cash.

Jewabaca has a rigid fork or two that have my intense interest.

I am waiting around 2-3weeks now for a reply from EVO bikes for feedback on a set of bearings and a rear thru axel conversion kit for a set of Hope pro 2's (non evo) .... may have to start looking elsewhere.

I have mounted the frame in my bike stand though, so the build has "started"

I have the following:

Frame

Wheels that req work

Giant dropper that needs to be checked and req. a 30.9 to 31.6mm spacer ... so a can of something made from aluminium will have to be consumed and a ghetto spacer made.

I have brakes that I think only need a bleed.

Crank with SS cog and chainring

Pedals ... should have something in the spares bin

Saddle .... a rather uncomfortable saddle

Need:

Tyres

Seatpost clamp

Headset

Not to loose my sense of humour

So..... when... erhmmm.. do we like.... get to see.... erhmmm... what you building it up with?

I use a piece of thin brass as a shim, works very well.

I used a giant headset before, but now onto the momsen one.

Here she is in road-bike Guise, different wheels with Conti racekings, still 140mm, did a 110km ride yesterday, comfy, quick no problems:

29 x 2.2, pretty thin actually, but roll well.

I'm thinking of getting one of these frames for a build with some spare parts that are lying around.

Momsen still has some good prices for these frames. Can anyone comment on the difference between the STF29 19 and STR29 21?  Besides the fact that the STF as the slide dropout and different geometry. What is the purpose of a slide dropout?

Thanks!
