57km loop x 2 laps(114kms) for CAT1/2/3 and 1 lap for Open CAT and Juniors u17 & u15.

 

Venue is very family and kid friendly so please bring some support along to the race.Play area and jumping castle for the kids and full restaurant and bar for the families and friends will be available. We will also have an Halaal vendor on the day to cater for our Muslim members.

We have successfully negotiated to get the early entry fees reduced to R150 for all CAT1/2/3 riders as well as ladies and R100 for the OPEN and U17 & U15 riders.

 

Early entries open on Wednesday 12 April 2017 to Wednesday 26 April thereafter it will be R250 and you will be able to enter on the morning of the race.

 

 

Spot prizes will be awarded for the lead rider on the 1st lap in CAT 1/2/3 and ladies. Prizes will be confirmed closer to the race.

damn this is going to be a tough decision, Swartberg 100 miler cancelled, but there is another race on this day too but MTB in Tulbagh, which one will it be?

We will be giving prizes to the leader in CAT1, 2, 3 and ladies after the 1st lap so make sure that you cross the line in the lead.

Prizes are:

Main prizes are:
Medals for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in all the racing CAT1,2,3, ladies and juniors u17 & u15.

My 2cents ,

 

- Great race

- Great turnout

- Great course

- Great Venue

 

BUT

 

This was my first CAT1 race , towards the end of the 1st lap we were averaging 43 km/h. We made a left turn as the pace was super fast we were all forced into the gutter ........on the righthand side of the road , in upcoming traffic.....

 

I was waiting for the comm to take control of the race which didnt happen. I pulled off to the left hand side of the road ( left of the white line) to start a new echelon and was joined by maybe 3 riders. Which ment race over as we were out or the slipstream of the main race. As I fell back I asked the follow vehicle how riding on the righthand side of the road with upcoming traffic can be allowed and got a mere shrug

of the shoulders.

 

PPA races have comm motorcycles giving us warnings when racing over the white line. Today we went way beyond and nothing was done.

 

Hopefully this can be addressed as safety should come first.
