29er SR Suntour xcr or rigid fork?

As many know I've tried to get hold of an air fork replacement for my Merida 29er, now I'm thinking of just replacing it with a rigid carbon or steel fork [emoji50]. I mostly do gravel roads, 95% of the time, so I will save a lot on weight etc. Running lower tyre pressure will help to absorb the gravel road bumps? The XCR is like a rigid fork that is just very heavy anyway. What do you people think?

Ok so now I'll be looking for a rigid steel 1 1/8 straight steerer fork. Anyone looking at discarding such a useless peace of metal by any chance? ???? Haha

While you are at it, sommer tsake off the gears and make it a singlespeed. THat is the path to true enlightenment.

Rigid is lekker, but you may just find yourself pining after a 29er straight steerer air shock in 6 months again.

Just playing devils advocate here....

Haha ja, I'll just keep my weighty coil shock for if I decide to go back, single speed, never. Way to many hills where I live [emoji6]
