Beta 1.42

So back to eina group and skewing the PPA vs w/kg stats thread

Well seems they rated the 109km only at 0.94.  But for sure it was not easier than last years race (which had a beta of 0.97)

"In statistical terms, a linear regression is performed for the event relative to the indexes of the people in the event who also rode one of the base events. This determines how much the winner’s time should be adjusted and what the difficulty factor “beta” should be. There is no subjectivity in this process – it is an automated calculation without human intervention."

So ja, not enough fast guys going slower

Actually, other way around, not enough fast guys that went slower than expected.  If all fast guys went slower, then statistically means conditions was very difficult and the slower guys would have suffered even more(Higher Beta).

Lots of fast guys was in team event, so to many "slow" guys in normal event.

Well, that my understanding.

agghh ffs! I really chose the wrong race to puncture...  <_<

Seems I'll be dropping down to C bunch before the SCT, any hill climbs coming up?

but they did change the winning time by 17 minutes - clearly too slow.    So overall the seeding jumps aren't massive.

Thanks - now I can feel slightly less sorry for myself.

But I guess I can only really blame myself, was slacking off on the road events focusing on monkey biking as Savage calls it, banking on the One Tonner to get the seeding right.

I can still fit in the Langebaan race before the SCT, can't imagine an 80km flat race with a small field will do my seeding wonders but it will probably still be more useful than all my pre-Argus races with time penalties.

Stage Race booked/Working at the event...

Seems I'll be bargaining on Gauteng people staying away from the CTCT out of fear of dying from thirst, fire or riots to sneak a decent seeding....
