Cheap dropper posts?

The Rapide dropper is a killer deal and I think replacement cartridges go for about the same as the Lyne replacement cartridges. Under R700 if I'm not mistaken.

But its worth pointing out that while the Rapide is cheaper than Lyne.

The actuation cable goes all the way up to the saddle while the Lyne stops at the collar.

This means that with the Rapide post your cable is moving up and down with the saddle every time its actuated. While I don't remember this being much of a problem with my first dropper from a couple years ago. Its still worth paying a couple hundred extra to avoid imo.

Rapide have some brilliant deals and when I actually have enough cash to go 11 speed.

I will definitely do it through them. But dropper vs dropper? Lyne ftw.

i was actually looking for a 1x11 group now i found a full sram nx for 3500k on they're site

thanks for the tip off,for the dropper i will most likely go for the lyne then

No you don't.... Just as long as it's not a SRAM xd (gx or above) cassette it will fit your current freehub.

a 9speed shimano xt doesn't fit on so idk if 11speed will

I think so Gummi. Cape Town based if I'm not mistaken.

They are. Based in Woodstock, just got back from their office with an awesome 1x under bar trigger for my 150mm.

Oh!? Is it 7 speed that you're running right now? Which bike / hub setup is it that you're running.

Maybe he's running a block. I know he's had a couple DH bikes.

Not sure what he's up to now.

+ another 1 for Lyne. Only had mine for 4 months but all been smooth trouble free operation.

Needs quite a bit of weight to make it drop (I m 75kg, have to sit firmly to get it down). Rises back up nice and calmly. No nutcrushing.

Bit fiddly to get the cable length right when installing. The cable on the internal routed version is clamped into a teeny little barrel bolt thing at the bottom of the post. I was too gentle when I tightened this little guy. Promptly came loose on 2nd test and disappeared inside the frame for 2 days.

Ah.... Nuts. Just found out my 150mm internal is just a bit to long for my new frame. Keeps hitting the pivot bolt and can't get it low enough so I'll have to get a 120mm from them to match the one on my Tranny.

So if anyone wants a 6 ride old,150mm, internal Lyne (they are sold out on the site) then let me know or keep an eye in the classifieds.
