Has anyone used the Forca SPS-400 for a length of time?

I got my son a 2nd hand one - I hope it wasn't a waste of $$.

I have scoured the interwebs and cannot find a user manual or tech sheet anywhere. I snapped the cable and am struggling to replace it.

It will likely snap in half where the holes are drilled on the post. It happened to me and a friend after a couple year's use. But if your son is still growing, it might last. I should probably update that review

Satori or Rapide? Rapid @ R1600 for an internal and replacement cartridges for R500 odd seems a no brainer.

I really wanted a 1up but that ends up being over R3K and given the issues the seem to present with dropper posts I don't want to buy from abroad and find I've got to return it.

Need to brush up on my German

(or like someone else said, wear some leather pants and drink some beer)

Just get the Lyne. Easily serviceable, spares available and no questions asked warranty.

The Forca looks like a variant of the Tmars. If you look at the link below on ebay, the service kits and most of the parts are the same. I would not buy another Tmars, think it is a waste of money compared to Rapide.

It is badly affected by mud, has a lot of play in the side to side movement, even with a new service kit.

How much play is normal with a Lyne dropper post. Got one recently and it has a lot more play than my previous Fox Transfer .

The Lyne has a lot more play than the Fox.  I'd say the Fox probably has the least play out of all of them.

The Fox is not cheap.

There's a bit of sideways movement on the Lyne, but not nearly enough to notice while riding.

If you're spending Fox money, rather get a Bikeyoke Revive. Best post I've ever worked on.

Are you saying there are issue with the Rapide ones?

The older ones aren't serviceable - apparently the new ones are - but my dig was more at the Forca and Satori which are disposable. Same goes for the Giant.

I have an issue with things that are designed to be thrown in the bin.

The Rapide can be opened up and cleaned, the cartridge needs to be replaced if this is the problem. So I would say it is semi serviceable, the cartridge does not look like it can be serviced. The TMARS (same as Forca) is serviceable too, can be completely stripped down. There is a service kit on eBay (I bought four of them from a guy in Israel) and replaced the plastic wearing parts every few months. Tmars is cheap, looks cheap and feels cheap. Some things are not meant to be done cheap, and this is one of them.

Forgive me if this seems a dumb question but with the Rapide or Lynes versions what are the parts that need to, or can be serviced?

The reply I got from Rapide was 'Hi, the hydraulic cartridge is replaceable on the stealth dropper post and that contains all the working parts.'

Like anything that moves, dirt gets inside. This is the big problem with TMARS, it has dust and mud protectors, but they don't work too well. So you often have to strip it and clean everything. The dirt gets everywhere.

The Rapide can be disassembled to clean inside, then you can see the cartridge. So the cartridge is "protected" inside the post behind seals and covers. After using my Rapide once in a 60 kay race I stripped it and the inside was still clean, so the dust covers and seals were doing their job. I think the cartridge is a non serviceable item. So when the cartridge is kaput, you get a new one. You cannot service the cartridge. I am happy with this design, as long as the cartridge lasts a couple of years, this would be fine with me.

Thanks for the feedback. The cartridges are R459 so that is pretty reasonable. If I can clean out the seals and stop the stanchion from wearing then that is the key.
