You don't shave your legs!?

Nope. Only when things go horribly wrong, then I find shaving (not having hair interfere with the scab forming) helps with the healing process. Also clippers help keeping things neat, and my prettier half doesn't like it if I shave. For a short while during varsity I had my legs waxed, but this freaked her out.

And lets be honest, nothing beats the feeling of the fresh air blowing through your hair :whistling:

On this, what is the official way to do the double lap? Should you enter through a charity bond that has a Double Lap option, ie. LumoHawk? Which other charities offer the double lap option?

I assume you can do an unofficial double lap but then you won't get credited with the completion of the second lap?

CHOC (The Cows) has a group that does a sub3 first lap, then do a second lap to help the other "Cows" and Ice-cream bikes that may be taking strain on their quest to finish....................you would need to raise a certain amount for CHOC to be part of this group (not sure of the details on this).....and ride for CHOC obviously.........

Thanks, got sorted via Qhubeka. Their approach is essentially the same as CHOC, also with a sub3 first lap. Minimum amount you need to raise is around R500 I think and the ideal goal is around R3000 or more, seeing that R3k will cover the cost for a new Buffalo bike for someone who needs it.

Doing the fundraising for charity somehow motivates me even more to be well prepared for this plus you meet some friendly folk through the organised training rides.

4th time doing the 947 and this is by far the one that I am looking forward to the most.

Which up coming races will still be considered for 94.7 seeding?

Your best bet is the Sattelite Classic, 80km route. The pro's won't be doing this distance, so you should be able to get closer to the finish time of the winner of the distance.

However, I do think it may be too late in the year to qualify for the normal seeding run, so you might have to ask for a reseed at registration.

Maybe someone from ASG can clarify for us whether this is indeed the case?

Got some info from Oom Google:

"The seeding committee takes into account events you have participated in between September 2016 and August 2017,"

Usually Race 4 Victory is the last but last year it stopped with Wilro Lions.

Not entirely sure what will be used this year.

But when seeding 33000 people it is possible to have a few wrong.

You can normally ask for a reseed, but it costs a few rand.

And I'm not sure if they take your most recent events into account

they can use your most recent event for the reseed. Well the info must be available on PPA seeding in order for them to use it.

last year I used results from Carnival City for a reseed at 947.

End August seems to soon for a cut off.

Satellite Classic 80km wont work because they consider races over 90km according to the website's FAQs.

I successfully got a reseed based on Satellite Classic in 2015. However, I think the cut-off for reseed is just after the Satellite Classic- I think last year was about the 23th of October.

Dankie Jurgens   let's see what happens come seeding time...

Dalk maak hulle 'n groot fout en gooi my in saam met die A of B manne  :w00t:  :whistling:  dan skuif ek net terug...LOL

The seeding I'm most worried about at the moment is the Race 4 Victory one     might be back in H, K, L...or whatever the back groups are and then have to work alone in those Gail force winds on the Meyerton / Vereeniging "Kalahari Vlaktes"  :nuke: then I can KISS my seeding for 94.7 away  :cursing:
