Peter van de Biezen Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 Hi Hubers,I have a 2015 BMW X6 5.0 It seems the standard Thule bike rack is directly in line with the tail pipes.The engine breathes out heavy and even if I add a heat shield, it seems my MTB wheel will catch the heat.I don't want to struggle with the wheel heating up and the sealant inside going off.Does anyone have a good suggestion of a bike rack that will keep the wheels out of the direct line of sight of the tail pipes ?

Pulse Posted June 8, 2017 Posted June 8, 2017 As far as I can see the X6 comes with either round or oval exhaust ends (don't know which you have). If its the round one, you could have exhaust ends added that deflects downwards slightly... But it will obviously affect the look of the vehicle. That is what is typically done on Fortuners

Better in the long run (or until you drive into the garage before taking your bike off)
