Upgrading to full suspension bike

I am looking to upgrade from my first hardtail - a Silverback Slade 3 - to a good entry-level full suspension bike. I would prefer to stay with a 650B or go to a 29er if I cannot find a 27.5". I have a limited budget but want to be sure that I am buying the right bike. Must be tubeless. Can anyone recommend a good bike to look at? I have only been riding about 3 years now but am looking to improve from my weekend social riding. Must be a medium frame - 18". Thanks

"Limited budget" doesn't really help much. Give us the dolla deets.

Also, what type of riding do you do? Do you want a more XC or trail bike?

Considering you're from KP, I assume you spend a fair bit of time at Modderfontein.

Jerome I went this route a few months back.  Looked at MANY options !!

finally settled on the TREK Fuel EX5.  At R28k it offers very good value for money

For similar money you can get slightly lower spec Spezialised options as well ...

Actually MANY options in this price range !!!  Too many, and it can become confusing ....  You will need time IN shops to see and feel these bikes to figure out what works for YOU.

If this is above your budget consider the Titan range.

This man says he has a limited budget, look at the Silverback SIDO range or even the Mongoose D/s around the R20k mark new, but you will get some nice deals in the classifieds, Some places will even trade your old bike but if you wait 2-3 months you will get specials on the current models in order to make space for 2018 models.

Yup, what Dexter said!

Best time to buy (new) is when the shops start to get rid of the previous years models to make way for he new ones...but nothing stopping you trying out the different options in the mean time :D
