Yeah, there is that On-One in the classifieds!

:whistling:

Not any more... that 64.5 steel riot maker has well left the building. Eyes are looking towards 'the sentinel' and might be opening a few more classifieds to get there.

Good price, good bike. Loves the downs and can be converted to 650b, raised chain stays (are so tendy right now!) and can swap dropouts as well. I had one for a little bit and it was great. Little bit of flex on the back and does bob when climbing if you don't flick the switch. It is a short bike and I think the head angle is about the 68 mark. Rear link is very good and tames a lot of pretty frisky terrain without blinking.

With that price you've got budget to spare so I'd slack it out a little with an angle headset and some 'offset bushings' - good upgrades for not much and will give you a 1 - 2 degrees change depending on what you go for.

Then I'd get a Lyne dropper and invest in some new wider wheels (26 or 650b, saw some awesome Easton Carbons 26'r s here last week for R5k but they were only 22mm internal), stem / bar combo or look at getting a burlier front fork / red shock.

Some good views here:

Hairy was going to get one and talks about his test ride.

Yea, these things got some great reviews, and with the amount of dough you'll have left you can do some pretty awesome things hey...

It's a good choice if you're looking for a 'cheap' bike and withnthe budget you could make a beast. If you're looking to take your full R20K there are a lot of very good bikes about with modern geo and good travel. Most Trances are in the R16 - R19k mark. Not 160mm but very capable but the OP finds them cramped. Unfortunately if the Trance is cramped then the Meta is going to feel doubled up!

Know anyone coming over from the UK? Your budget will get you these beauties!

OP - I know you said you don't like a trance but if you change your mind I'm selling my 2014 trance2 size L. I'm selling it without the front fork I currently have on it, and it has a small dent from a stupid small fall.

Set up to take any tapered fork. And you can get 158mm rear travel with a 200x57 shock.

Swing me a pm if you're interested.
