I should have known better than to ask here.... ai

I would prefer to buy from a local shop. I would prefer hydraulic disks, I have mechanical discs on my CX bike in CPT. Not a deal breaker can upgrade to hydro later, but no need to try convince "mechanical is good enough", they are but I don't lie them. I would prefer not to build a bike. Would prefer to spend less than R30k = Training bike

Hence my original question, what CX bikes are readily available in SA?

So having said that, these seem the options that have come up so far.

Trek Crockett:

Niner, a friend has one, but is out of budget I think?

So far, the Giant actually seems like the best option. Just don't know prices, I think its the best looking too.

Absolute magic.Only used for commuting.Frame is class,I have always said giant make some of the best bikes in the world.

Having said that it might go on sale soon.N + 100000 means there are a lot of bikes that just sit there. You only really need 1 mtb and 1 road bike.

Why hellooooo you...

Thats nice!

What size?

I know that you said you'd not like to build one yourself, but think about a RitcheySwissCross frame sent to your favourite bikeshop with a Ritchey buildkit and get the shopr to get a 105 groupset and build it for you.

You need not even see it before it is ready for collection...

Thank goodness you and I are not the same size Patch.

In Giant I ride a size small so that's about a 53

Normal retail for that bike is about 41K

Best you squeeze your lbs for discount.

I got mine for in the 30'sk

Which is absolute bargain against everything else.

It's just a thought I had this week end when I saw it hanging up not been used.

Patch I was in the same boat as you I think.

I thought I didn't want to ride my colnago thru winter so got a cx bike to commute.

Problem is because you have the power meter on your colnago you'll want to use that to train and the cx bike will just sit there.
