Increase Travel on Shock?

Right so i am curious.

i know you can increase the travel on Lefty carbon shocks from 100mm to 120mm

 

i have a scalpel and am tempted to increase the travel

 

has anyone done this? 

 

Good idea? bad idea?

 

nb the 2014 scapel i have is known to be very "sharp" in the handling department.

so the slight increase in height gained by the increase should in theory make the bike less twitchy

I have done it with my RS SID and it defiantly helped.

Good to hear. my shock is in need of a service so will be going down in the next week.

going it have it extended to 120mm

Also did it on my RS Reba RL and it works perfectly.

Your gonna need special lefty tools and believe me if you don't know what your doing your either gonna brake a very expensive part or take for ever to do the job if you don't know what your doing. Best advice is to send i to someone who knows leftys.
