R20 000 on Bikehub vs R1 950 on OLX....?! I am clearly shopping in the wrong place.

Seriously though, be careful, spidey senses are tingling... If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Advertised on the Hub in 2015 as having done 200km, now on OLX as having done 300km, reminds me of the low km car sales pitch of the Little Old Lady who only used it to drive round the block.

The little old lady story is sometimes true! My mom now drives my gran's car, a honda jazz. I think it's a 2006/8 model but when my mom took it over 2 years ago it had something like 30 000km on it. She literally drove it to work and back, then retired and parked it in the garage..

he could well have missed a zero on OLX....but this is HIGH ALERT STUFF!

Just call the seller before doing this.. The person may have missed a zero.. OLX new system is a bit confusing and I have seen many ads lately missing a zero.. You end up calling them and they haven't even realized it.

Don't just post a stolen bike ad please..

Just for future reference, a quick and easy way to check if ads are fake is to right click on the image, and click "search google for image". Often what these guys do (especially on OLX for some reason) is they will just take the contents of a gumtree.co.uk ad and just port it over to OLX. A reverse image search will find all pages with the same image.

Another pattern I've noticed on OLX is that the seller has signed up within that month, and the only put a single name, like John, or Frank.

This particular ad didn't return any results though.

As usual, be alert, phone people and meet face to face (also, be glad we have a place like BikeHub to trade "safely")

It's a 26" bike and sold in 2015 @ R20k...might be the correct value now R1950 (tongue in cheek)   :whistling:
