Finding it strange that very few of the PPA supported events are being posted on the hub these days, the same was with the Backsberg race from this weekend.

i sent them a mail regarding the promotion of their events.  they said they'll forward my suggestions to the relevant staff.  seems they don't really GAF.  they shouldn't complain when certain events are poorly attended then.  (not this one)

Well the Backsberg had much better participation than previous years, so maybe they don't need the hub, but it would be nice when you start sharing stories and ideas about an event, instead of bring up last year's thread.

Finding it strange that very few of the PPA supported events are being posted on the hub these days, the same was with the Backsberg race from this weekend.

 

Don't have a clever explanation but I find there are few big events (and the odd random interesting event) that dominate hub discussions year after year, Sani2C, Argus, K2C etc

 

and then there are a number of events that would have 1000+ entrants but barely a mention on the hub (unless something big went wrong).

 

My perception is also that less race stories are shared nowadays and also that there is not really a correlation between the success of an event (or not) and the number of mentions on the hub.

no but you can enter the 70km race on sunday for R450

Oh bugger, the usual PPA bike board mess ups, I foresee huge panic Sunday morning, better get there very early!

surely this can be done at a separate station and not all at one point?

 

anyway i hope most went today and tomorrow there will be no queue at all!

Anybody know where I can find the route profiles?  Did the 30km last year but entered 45km this year and now not sure that I'm up for it given my fitness levels!  So would like to compare...

I found last years routes when I searched on the 2016 race. Not sure if they sticking with a similar route but might at least give you an idea
