It’s most roll incredibly quick with that wheel and tyre combo, yet still enough plushness. What don’t you trust the ardent’s ?Riding a rigid certainly takes some getting used to that’s for sure . Tyre choice and pressure is critical . This mornings ride with the 38’s was harsher. The difference between them and the sawtooth 42’s is a fair bit.

Felt a little beaten this morning after my ride.

It just feels like the rear tyre want to roll or fold tooeasily when I get to a "nice" tyre pressure. The feeling could also be exaggerated due to riding on tar ... when on the gravel sections of the green belts the sensation is not as much of an issue.

That nice tyre pressure is normally low right . I reckon the road/tar does over exaggerate that plushness . I thought a few times today my rear wheel was soft when on hard pack or tar.

Maybe the tyre is tad wide for 22mm id wheels and shows itself on tar.

But you know better than most what works .

Damn that’s a beast ....make you want to do bad things that will get you hurt

oh it did for sure. I didn't have it long because my wife got into riding and preferred the gravel grinding thing....and obviously that "Pumpkin Patch' was not built for that kind of boring. The scary part about that thing was... the faster and harder you went, the better it got. I got so complacent on it that i'm pretty sure i would have stepped over that talent threshold at some stage. It really was a big boy BMX but wanted to go like a DH bike.
