If they renew Cav and his crew's contracts then they may as well drop down to Pro continental now. Huge salaries spent on riders past their best.. Cav doesn't have the speed anymore and his leadout don't have the speed to compete with sprinter trains to even get him in the right position, not that it will help much he can't finish off the job nor does he really try.

I am a big EBH fan but why aren't they setting up van Rensburg for the sprints?

Ag but watch they will probably buy another rider at the end of their career again [emoji849]

Probably because they need riders with points?

I stand to be corrected but doesn't Cav bring personal sponsors to the team, like Deloitte and Cervelo?

The whole thing is impressive?

I wonder how far any of us could ride in 80 odd hours?

Not nearly anywhere near that.. but it also isn't our jobs[emoji23]

Well if rumours are to be believed Cervelo won't continue and neither will Deloitte.

also, how far could any of us ride at their average speed, given the terrain they negotiate...?

So the demise of the pure climber GT rider continue.

1 to 4 all TT type riders that can climb really well.

Will we ever see a pure climber win a GT again?

Maybe this year at the vuelta as most of the big riders are done for the season.

Happy to see Froome on the podium..hope he can come back for his 5th.

How many GT podiums is that now? 9 or 10? With one 4th place in there somewhere as well...

I think it boils down to having form that carries the rider through 3 full weeks.

Yates, at the Giro, is a good example... blew up with 3 days to go.

The pure climbers might be fine for a week-long Tour, but when it comes to 3 weeks it's a different story.

Wasn't CAV a Spaz fanboy at his peak? Besides like Pathelishus said, the BMC deal is done. Hopefully Oakley and DD stay.

Yes know about the BMC deal. Cervelo sounds like they going to Sunweb.

DD is a nice little retirement team. They will take Eddy Mercx as well if he wants to come out of retirement

And he would still be better than all of them five times over! :whistling:
