Tygerberg MTB Membership - General question.

Morning all

I have a TBMTB membership. The membership allows me access to the Tygerberg trails network and Welvanpas (Wellington).

What is the club's policy iro joining with other "trail providers" (like hero adventure trails at Spice route and Rhebokskloof) to allow the members to use other networks with our current membership?

For me personally, I would love to have access to more trails under 1 membership even if the cost of that membership is a little higher than what it is now.

Thanks for the feedback

I think the issue might be around who gets paid for maintenance etc. of which trails, because the Tygerberg guys won't be doing the maintenance at Rhebokskloof etc.

I Currently have Table mountain membership,Sanpark membership and a Tygerberg membership it would be great to have a western cape membership which cover all the trails in the western cape ...that however would be pretty much of a pipe dream.I do realise all the stumbling blocks involved, legal issues ,agreements with landowners, maintenance and upkeep and then the ever tedious task of monitoring rouge riders.

Maybe a good start to provide a dual combo for TBMTB and Table Mountain/Tokai at maybe a slightly discounted fee...?

Good luck on getting SANParks to agree to anything like joining forces with something like TBMTB. It will be a decade long process and will be frustrating enough to kill someone with the personality of a rhino-porcupine-badger-buffalo cross .

unless tbmtb agrees to triple their fees, send all the money to Pretoria and allocate R0 annually to trail maintenance. Sanparks might go for that deal

For any collaborative system to be considered, trail centers need to agree on a common technology platform for access (card reader vs trail tag vs bike board etc). Key to revenue share would be accurate info wrt usage. The trail with the most swipes should get the most revenue. A further challenge is that trail ownership and membership models differ. A club model differs markedly from a conservancy model and then you have owners, parastatals and hybrids of these thrown in the

mix. I limit myself to 3 x annual memberships. 2017 was Oak Valley, Jonkershoek and Helderberg. 2018 it will most likely be Jonkershoek, Helderberg and Simonsberg.
