CX bikes are limited to 33c tyres, are made for carrying on the shoulder and have higher BBs.

Gravel have more relaxed geometry, lower BBs and can take bigger tyres, not so racey.

Edit:

Here are two good examples of the differences.

ha! Traditionally CX bikes have a slightly shorter reach but longer wheelbase to make them more stable but allow room in the cock pit for jostling and throwing some shoulder as well as making it easier to throw your weight around to hop, descend and skid about like a loon.

The high BB is being phased out by guys like Squid and other less traditional frame manufacturers.

Gravel bikes are basically road bikes with big tire clearance and old MTB geo! (Crucify him! Crucufy him!)

UCI ruling puts a 33c tire the largest legal race volume, but most frames have huge clearance due to the muddy/adverse conditions the races are held in.

It is like cupholders for cars.

A REAL CX bike like a Richard Sachs has Zero bottle cage mounts;

A REAL Gravel bike like a Niner RLT, has 5 bottle cage mounts...

Like the american car industry taught us, as long as you have a big choice of where to put your beer,  stuff like  engineering, styling, dynamics, etc are all irrelevant.

Between 2008 and 2015 I had CX bikes.

Now I have a Gravel bike......

Is that because RideFarr caters to the gravel grinding sector?

that and the fact that Gravel Bikes are Cool : )

when CX becomes Cool we may develop a CX bike - #neversaynever #doyouevenGravelBro

hahahahaha

Cool is also subjective... I think Iron Maiden are cool while my missus reckons they eat bags of willies. She thinks (don't judge me) Taylor Swift is cool and I think she is pretty lame.

Neither of us are wrong, although she is but because I love her and want to avoid being in the dog box, obviously I am wrong.

I still listen to Maiden when she goes out though

But if your wife sold Taylor Swift t-shirts, her "cool" wouldn't be purely based on personal preference and subjectivity :)

hahahahahahaha or more accurately, if she WAS Taylor Swift I would probably think she was almost as cool as Iron Maiden but would definitely try and influence her rubbish music

Dressing your lamb-mutton in an iron maiden is probably the bigger issue here. Thats a pretty advanced "adults toy" for a teenager :D
