Hanging our MTB

Phew! At least it's not getting the electric chair!

And yes, it's perfectly fine-absolutely no problem.

I've actually never questioned that one; but I was told that it was not good for hydraulic brakes, the calliper always needed to be lower than the lever .... knowing a bit about hydraulics, it did not make any sense at all. Brakes and bikes are shipped from the factory in a box and I've not seen a box that was labelled this side up.

I think it has to do with air bubbles that might occur in the line. But i have not had a problem with it before

I have them hanging everywhere in my garage. This is currently the most effective in taking up unused space.

Nearly time to find an outside spot for the car, isn't it? N+1 and all ;)

Exactly 10 bikes in my household as well. Down from 12 after the wife finally convinced us that no matter what, she was never going to become a cyclist. Sadly, regrettably, I also sold the tandem. That was just plain dumb. Note to self....... :D

Would like to see what the saddles are hooked on to? Think I may just to the same (my wife is complaining about the bikes in the living room taking up too much space, but I like the decor too much).

How do you have them hanging? A picture if possible?

I made it out of old square bar I had. I did get in the roof and carefully mark where I could screw not only through the brandering but into the truss as well. M8 screws that are bloody long. I could do pull-ups on it if I wanted too (read, if I could)..... Played around with height and location as all bikes hang slightly different from the saddle and needed to find best clearance of the car.

For bike storage ideas both inside the house or garage etc. Pinterest is your friend, always really good ideas can be found there.

Very good idea. Been toying with the idea for a while. You can put up a sliding door rail like Hilaldam then you can slide them into position. Mjst admit hanging them from the saddle is a very good idea. Think I have the solution????????

The air bubbles thing doesn't make sense to me, the brakes are a sealed system, so I fail to understand how the air bubbles would occur unless somewhere along the line a seal fails?

Every year when I visit my parents in Jongensfontein I hang my Anthem upside down from two hooks in their garage without any problems. Once heard that hanging it this way can cause bubbles in the system to settle at the highest point i.e. calipers and cause brakes to fail. IMHO if this happens it means that the brake system is compromised and in need of a service anyway.
